My name is Melissa Rose. I am a Mental Health Counselor (MHC-LP) with a background in education and law. I bring a unique, well rounded and holistic perspective to my clinical work as well as an empathetic, practical approach to therapy. My work is  grounded in person-centered and solution-focused therapy, helping clients feel both seen and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. In every session, I aim to empower clients with tools to build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and move toward their personal goals with confidence.

I specialize in supporting adolescents and young adults, in a school-based setting and in one on one settings, where I assist clients in figuring out how to navigate academic stress, family issues, relationship issues, anxiety, poor performance, identity development, life transitions, stress and emotional challenges.  My experience as a former teacher allows me to understand the school environment from multiple angles, while my legal background informs my sensitivity to systemic pressures and advocacy work. As a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), I also bring targeted expertise in managing various forms of anxiety using evidence-based tools.

Working with diverse populations, immigrant families, individuals from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and LGBTQ+ youth and BIPOC, I am committed to providing culturally responsive, affirming care and bring strong cultural competencies to my sessions. I recognize the importance of identity, lived experience, and community in shaping mental health. I always work to to create an inclusive, safe and affirming space for clients of all backgrounds, and I tailor my approach to respect each individual’s unique cultural context.

Clients often tell me that I “keep it real” and appreciate my authentic and down-to-earth style. I believe therapy should be a space where you can be yourself without judgment, and where your voice and values guide the process. Whether you’re navigating stress, identity, relationships, or big life decisions, my goal is to meet you where you are and support you in moving forward with clarity and confidence.
