“The day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit.”
That wisdom guides my practice because therapy isn’t about instant transformation – it’s about planting seeds that grow into lasting change. My grandfather, a therapist himself, taught me this through his own journey. Watching how he helped others inspired me to continue that legacy.
From NYC born and raised, I initially focused on substance use work before realizing that trauma is often the root. Address the trauma first, and you might prevent the substance use altogether. That shift from treating symptoms to addressing causes changed everything about how I practice.
I know firsthand how debilitating anxiety can be, even though people minimize it because it’s “so common.”
That personal experience helps me understand that common doesn’t mean easy and widespread doesn’t mean insignificant. Your struggles are valid, regardless of how many others share them.
I’m the friend who tells you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear. Clients describe me as relatable, caring, and understanding – someone who creates genuine safety while also implementing real techniques to help with symptoms. Therapy with me is conversational and moves at your pace, but it’s also honest and focused on actual change.
I work with young kids through young adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and ADHD. My approach recognizes that everyone has something to get off their chest and even thinking you don’t is a reason to explore why you believe that.
Outside work, I’m usually reading or spending time with my dog. These simple pleasures keep me grounded and remind me that healing often happens in quiet, ordinary moments.
If you’re hesitant about therapy, let’s reframe that: you’re not hesitant, you’re curious. Something brought you here, something made you wonder. That curiosity is worth exploring and it might open doors you didn’t know existed.
